About 1.5" Composite Deck
1.5" Composite Deck
1.5 inch Composite Deck is the structural floor deck for composite concrete slabs. The panel is embossed so it locks mechanically into the concrete poured over it, and the deck and the slab then act as one structural unit. Metal Warehouse Inc. supplies it cut to order for contractors across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
Composite Deck looks like B-Deck at a glance: the same 1-1/2 inch rib at 6 inch centers across 36 inches of coverage, and the same nesting side lap. The difference is the embossment. Small raised patterns are rolled into the rib walls so that when concrete is poured over the deck it grips the steel instead of simply resting on it. That mechanical interlock is what makes the floor composite, letting the steel deck act as the tension reinforcement for the slab rather than as a form that gets left behind. If you only need something to pour on and then forget about, B-Deck is the cheaper answer. If the deck has to carry load with the slab, this is the panel.
