About C-Purlins
C-Purlins are the secondary structural members that run between the primary frames of a metal building, supporting the roof and wall panels and carrying that load back to the main frame. Metal Warehouse Inc. roll-forms them in Sherman, TX in five web depths and three gauges, cut to your length.
A C-Purlin is a cold-formed Cee section: a flat web with a flange turned in at the top and bottom. It bolts to clips on the primary frame and gives the roof and wall sheeting something to fasten to, spreading panel loads back into the columns and rafters. We make them with web depths of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 inches and flange depths from 2 to 4 inches, in 12, 14 and 16 gauge, pre-punched with 5/8 by 1 inch slots so they bolt up without field drilling. Finish is your choice of red oxide primer or galvanized G90. Engineered load tables are available on request, so you can size the member to the span rather than guessing at it.
