40x80 Barndominium - Van Alstyne, TX
Project Overview
A family relocating from the Dallas suburbs to rural Grayson County wanted a barndominium that combined a 2-bedroom, 2-bath living area with a large workshop bay. Metal Warehouse Inc. worked with the owner's builder to design a package that split the 3,200-square-foot footprint into a 40x40 living section and a 40x40 clear-span shop - with a continuous roofline for a clean exterior appearance.
The Challenge
The owners had a specific interior layout that required non-standard window placement and a side entry to the living section separate from the shop overhead door. They also wanted a Galvalume roof rather than painted panels for the lowest possible long-term maintenance.
Our Solution
We custom-engineered the package to the owner's floor plan, positioned framing to accommodate all window and door openings as specified, and supplied a Galvalume standing seam roof with painted R-Panel walls in Burnished Slate.
Outcome
The finished barndominium became a showcase project for the builder, who has since brought us two additional barndominium customers from the same area.
